I bought this wonderful large pull at Anthropology a few years ago, I wasn't sure what I would do with it, who knew it would be inspiration piece for this project.
I will have to admit leaving my bedroom at the Depot House for this bedroom at our little Barn House, well let's just say it came with it's challenges. Yes, this is the back of the brick chimney from the fireplace in the living room, strange, I know. Some man designed this on the back of a napkin over a few beers no doubt, wait a minute I have drawn out many ideas on the back of a napkin, hopefully that is where the similarities stop.
I knew I had to paint it, to try and make it disappear, I love this color, Mary Carol's Sugar Cookie from her designer paint line at Nell Hill's, walls and brick all the same color, trim and ceiling Garrity Cream. I loved the final results but it still needs something, the opening looked strange, I do need storage, how about a floor to ceiling cabinet? I really like this idea, the perfect finishing touch!
I drew out the design and called my friend Randy, after a few changes it was ready, my son Grant gave it a beautiful spray finish. Ready for installation.
Bob and Randy make a great team.
Fitting perfectly!
Installing the doors!
My Glass knob was perfect, a trip back to Anthropology resulted in square matching pulls.
So what do you think? Before
After!
I love my cozy eclectic bedroom...
My question to you... are your afraid to paint brick?
Don't be!
Blessings, Julie
